Philadelphia - 6ABC/IKEA Thanksgiving Day Parade
The oldest in the nation, Gimbel Bros. Dept. Store began the parade in 1920 and continued sponsorship until 1986 when 6ABC and corporate sponsors began operating it. Kicking off at 20th and Market Streets, winding along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and continuing to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the parade features television stars, singers, pageant winners, special guests and over 90 choirs and other performance group.
